MILITARY UNIT IN DORNOD PROVINCE AWARDED STATE ORDER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Dornod aimag’s Kherlen soum-based a military unit named after Marshal Kh.Choibalsan has been awarded the Order of Military Merit pursuant to a decree of the President Ts.Elbegdorj, in frames of the 75th anniversary of the Khalkh River Battles Victory. The Order granting ceremony took place Sunday in the military unit with a participation of Mr P.Tsagaan, the head of the Presidential Office; Brigadier-General Sh.Lhachinjav, the head of the General Authority for Border Protection, and other officials. The President’s decree says that the military unit in Kherlen soum of Dornod aimag has been awarded this Order on occasion of the 2223rd anniversary of the first Mongolian statehood - the Hun Empire, the 808th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 93rd anniversary of the People’s Revolution of Mongolia, and the 75th anniversary of the Khalkh River Battles Victory. In his speech, Mr Tsagaan emphasized that servicemen of this unit participated in the 1939 Khalkh River Battle and in the 1945 Liberation Battle. “Many heroes were born from this military unit. They fought for us and our independence. Our present and future generations must not forget their priceless merit and reputation and must not ignore their heroism,” he stressed. After this, the Brigadier-General Sh.Lhachinjav delivered a speech, underlining that both the wars of 1939 and 1945 were inevitable for Mongolia in its protecting the independence.
