Minju Joson Hits out at Japan's Moves for Constitutional Revision

Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, Japanese Prime Minister Abe openly revealed his ambition for ending the dispute over violation of constitution by correctly specifying the existence of the "Self-Defense Forces" in the constitution, saying that he remains unchanged in seeking a goal for enforcing the new constitution in 2020. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Tuesday says: Article 9 of the present constitution of Japan stipulates that Japan is banned from having war forces, using forces against other countries and taking part in such military action. Japan could behave as a "pacifist state" in the international community, thanks to that article. The Abe regime has worked hard to modify the article in the face of strong protests and criticism at home and abroad. It is because the article is putting a brake on its drive for reviving militarism and realizing the wild ambition for overseas aggression. It is just the wild ambition of the Abe regime to turn Japan into a country eligible to launch a war of aggression by revising the article. Japan's militaristic revival and reinvasion is a matter of time. However, Japan will only come under bitterer criticism by the international community for desperately resorting to constitutional revision aimed at realizing the criminal ambition for overseas expansion. -0-
