Mohamed bin Zayed receives Premier of Australia's Queensland State

Abu Dhabi: His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received this evening at Al Bahr Palace Campbell Newman, Premier of the Australian State of Queensland who is heading a state delegation on a visit to the UAE. Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Newman and praised the progressive UAE-Australian ties. He also expressed the hope that relations between the UAE and Queensland will witness further progress. The meeting touched on issues of mutual interest, including ways to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation. Sheikh Mohammed said he was pleased with the joint strategic cooperation agreement signed yesterday between the governments of Abu Dhabi and Queensland, adding that he was confident that the agreement will open doors for a new phase of strategic partnership and cooperation. Newman said the government of Queensland was keen on developing relations of cooperation and friendship with the UAE. He said he was delighted to visit the UAE and looking forward to achieving positive outcome. He also lauded the progress witnessed in the UAE. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
