Mohammed bin Rashid receives U.S. Secretary of Commerce

Dubai (WAM): His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, this morning received the visiting U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed and the U.S. official reviewed trade and investment cooperation relations and ways to raise the volume of trade exchange between the UAE and the United States, which is currently reaching 27 billion dollars annually. The talks also covered the issue of investment partnership and finding new areas to achieve this partnership, especially at the level of the private sector in the two countries. During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed welcomed opening additional channels to expand the horizons of trade and investment cooperation between the two sides, noting the historical ties of friendship that bind the two friendly peoples at various levels. The U.S. Secretary of Commerce, in this regard, stated that she will visit the country leading a trade and investment delegation representing more than twenty companies and institutions from the private sector, to hold meetings with representatives of the public and private sectors in the country and explore the possibilities of building investment partnerships in various sectors, noting the presence of about 30,000 Americans living and working in the UAE. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
