MONGOLIA-VIETNAM SUB-COMMISSION MEETS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Second meeting of the Mongolia-Vietnam sub-commission of the bilateral scientific and technical cooperation ran on Tuesday in Ulaanbaatar. The sides shared views on implementation of a protocol issued by the first meeting of the sub-commission ran in 2007 in Hanoi and on opportunities to widen the cooperation. Vietnam's Vice Minister of Science and Technology Nguen Wang Lang said the sides gathered to consider matters of some joint projects that were discussed at the first meeting and that have not been realized yet due to several reasons like the world economic crisis. He also admitted that the established in 1954 bilateral ties have been in stagnation since 1990s. The sides discussed projects to be implemented in the nearest future in agriculture, traditional medicine and biotechnology. The sub-commission's meeting brought together B.Urgamaltsetseg, the Vice Minister of Education and Science; Nguen Wang Lang; O.Sukhbaatar, a head of the Ministry's Section of Sciences; Vietnam's Vice Minister of Science and Technology; and other officials.
