MONGOLIAN REP AT FAO SESSION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by Sh.Odonbaatar, the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is participating in the 145th session of the FAO which kicked off Monday in Rome, Italy. The session is discussing its domestic issues such as the 2012 reports of technical committees, an implementation of the 2010-2011 programme, a structural reform to be done in 2012-2013, the strategic goal reform and the 2014-2017 middle-term action plan. The FAO members hope this session will give impetus to realizing of the reforms's goals. Mongolia has been cooperating with the FAO since 1973 in food, agriculture and nature protection. The FAO Director-General paid a visit to Mongolia this year, which has become a fruitful event, for example, the sides established a memorandum on strengthening the cooperation for five years and on implementing joint projects and programmes, reached an agreement on framework of the cooperation in Mongolia for the period 2012-2016, and started talks on establishment of the FAO Permanent Representative office in Mongolia.
