MPRP WANTS TO WITHDRAW FROM CABINET

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ One of the major political party, the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) has decided to withdraw from the current cabinet of Mongolia.
This decision was made Monday at the meeting of the MPRP's executive bureau with details in a press release.
As the party says, such as step has been triggered by a situation with their leader, former president N.Enkhbayar, "who has been sentenced to some years in prison with a political purpose, and thus he is politically repressed."
"Even an upcoming court meeting (this Friday) will not change anything,” the party considers, ordering its members to leave the cabinet.
The MPRP also states that it will not bear any responsibility for an instability the withdrawal of its three members may lead to.
Apart of this matter, the party has ask the Corruption Combating Agency (CCA) to inspect M.Enkhbold, U.Khurelsukh, Ts.Nyamdorj and Su.Batbold "who have been involved in several incidents related to properties during the chairmanship of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) in the government".
“Our party joined the coalition government at a request of the Democratic Party, which is chairing the current government, and agreed to cease all kinds of repression, but the repression is still exists, besides, rights of of our members have been obstructed to elect and to be elected,” says G.Byambasuren, the MPRP secretary in charge of party structure affairs.
"It is obvious that the punishment N.Enkhbayar has been undergoing just plays for the interests of one group, and no-one tries to deal with the repression. Our State Head Elbegdorj must do this, we know he had promised to be together with the people, but he maintains silence on this matter," Mr Byambasuren said.
"A meeting of the Supreme Court will take place on Friday, but we do not expect positive decisions," he added.
