Nasrollah: War On Iran, Syria, will spread to whole region

Beirut, Nov 12, IRNA – Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah Seyed Hassan Nasrollah said that war against Iran and Syria will spread to the whole region. 'As Ayatollah Khamenei has said Iran is united with a strong army and nation and will never be frighthened by enemies' threats,' he added. Nasrollah, who was speaking in South Lebanon on Friday on the occasion of commemoration of 'Martyr Day' underlined that everybody should know that any war against these two countries will spread to the whole region. In the past several days, threats against Iran have increased and possibility of Israeli attack against Iran's nuclear installations has been mooted and Iranian senior officials have replied decisively, said Nassrollah. In spite of occupation of countries around Iran by the US military, Iran has never been weakened in talks with the USA, he added. Nasrollah said that US forces will withdraw from Iraq until the end of the year and this is a great loss for the USA. 'It is obvious that US punishes those countries that defeated US plans to dominate the region; Iran and Syria are two countries which resisted against this plan and supported Iraqi nation resistance, so the US threatens them and does not confess to its failure,' The secretary general continued that the US wants to push Iran for direct talks, but Iran declines, so they want to put Syria under pressure, especially by considering Europe and the world financial crisis. The fall of regimes in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya was a damage to the US interest and it is interfering in Syria and Iran's domestic affairs to compensate for its loss. Nasrollah recommended all Lebanese political forces not to wait for abroad and regional developments and try to improve domestic situation. He also advised those who are postponing internal affairs and are waiting for fall of President Bashar Assad in Syria, to know that their idea will be defeated, too./end
