National and Reserve Authority chairman: Five training centres for recruits

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Major-General Pilot Sheikh Ahmad bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority, yesterday said that the first batch of citizens who meet the conditions of the National Service Law will be received at the beginning of September at three recruitment centres in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Al Ain, and that there will be five training centres: two in Al Ain, one in Al Manamah, one in the Western Region and a fifth for females at Khawla bint Al Azwar Military School in Abu Dhabi.
Major-General Pilot Sheikh Ahmad was speaking at a press conference yesterday at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Brigadier-General Salim Juma Al-Kaabi, Director of Military Justice, and Brigadier-General Mohammed Suhail Al Niyadi, Director of Strategic Planning in the National and Reserve Authority.
He noted that a media plan to raise awareness of the importance of national service has been launched in coordination with twofour54 and will benefit from all media in the country.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun also noted that National and Reserve Authority is interested in communicating with the youth through social networking sites such as Facebook, twitter and Instagram, as well as toll free number 800555 in order to answer their inquiries on national service.
He also announced the launch of a contest for the design of a logo for national service, which will be open to all members of the public to express their loyalty to the nation through arts.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun hailed the issuance Federal Law No.6 for the Year 2014, on the national military service and reserve force, is a practical translation of the sagacious vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of U.A.E. Armed Forces, and their keen attention to the interests of national youth and their future.
Urging the youth to shoulder their national responsibilities based on clear vision and goals, the chairman of National and Reserve Service Authority hailed the role of Emirati mothers and families in raising a generation inspired by the achievements the nation's founding fathers made for the solid federation which is taking confident steps to achieve its U.A.E. Vision 2021.
H.H. Sheikh Ahmad bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan also urged government departments and the society to stand together to face any challenges to the project of national and reserve service. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
