NATO: Georgia carries heavy burden and pays heavy price in Afghanistan

Georgia, Tbilisi, June 7 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia / NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen offered his condolences to the people of Georgia and the families of the Georgian servicemen killed in Afghanistan in his letter to the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili. On the eve, seven Georgian servicemen were killed and nine wounded as a result of an attack at the military base of Georgian troops in Afghanistan's Helmand province. "Georgia carries a heavy burden in Afghanistan, and paid a high price. Georgia plays an important role in this efforts for which we thank you," the letter says. Rasmussen noted that such terrible incidents will not force NATO to abandon its goal which is transferring to Afghans the responsibility for the security of their country. Do you have any feedback?
