BANGKOK, Feb 2 (TNA) -- The construction of the new parliaments in estimated to be finished by mid 2019.
The adviser to the new Parliament building project Chotjutha Ajsorn said that all problems concerning the construction of the new parliament have now been resolved, paving way for quicker operations.
Overall, he said, construction has progressed by about 32 per cent, with basic structures already 85 per cent completed, noting that the main building of the new parliament would be divided into three zones, including the house of representatives zone, senators zones, and the ceremonial hall.
Meanwhile, the building system, such as electricity, waterworks, ventilation are 20 per cent completed.
Mr Chotjutha said both the structures for house of representatives and senators' zone would be 7-storey high, and construction for both parts have been reached the 6th floor, while the hall is set to be 11-storey high, where construction on that part has also reached the 6th floor as well.
He said all the basic structures for all zones should be finished by mid year and the new parliament should be ready by mid 2019, if further problems do not occur.
According to the agreement for the first extended deadline, the construction of the new parliament must be completed within February of 2018, due to the delayed in land restitution, in which the third deadline extension is currently being discussed, as the contractor has asked for 926 more days in order to full complete the new parliament.
