Next year is announced as Year of Kazakhstan in Germany

Berlin, 2 December 2008, (Khabar) - At an international conference in the German capital, Kazakhstan was defined as an engine of stability and economic growth in the Central Asian region. It has been noted as well, that the relations between Berlin and Astana are characterized by the utmost understanding and cooperation. The German-Kazakh society, which summarized the results of last year, took the lead in the conference. Experts, political scientists, deputies of the Bundestag as well as representatives of the cabinet discussed the image policy of Kazakhstan, the significance of the Kazakh language in the region and the levels of stability in Central Asia. The banking system of Kazakhstan was referred to as the leading one in the CIS countries by German financial analysts, emphasising that they have all the prerequisites for escaping the problems of the world financial crisis.

Ulf Wokurka, deputy persient of “Samruk” holding company in 1006-2008:
- About a month or one and a half months ago, the government of Kazakhstan took measures aimed at reinforcing the banking system up to 25%. A state share appeared through the Samruk-Kazyna national fund as well as other measures. So I think, there was quite a smooth and coordinated reaction to the deterioration of general conditions.

This year, specialists of the University of Goettingen carried out research where they compared 5 countries of Central Asia and Russia considering various characteristics. In all respects, Kazakhstan is among the leaders or indeed the outright leader.

Friedrichold Hermann, Land bank of Berlin:
- Kazakhstan takes first place regarding its political stability and legal issues. Moreover, Kazakhstan holds first place regarding its economic policy. The Republic occupies second place for its government effectiveness. Studying the issues of democratic development in the country, we found out that Kazakhstan takes third place in this respect. The Republic also holds second place regarding its anti-corruption measures.

At the conference in Berlin, it was also mentioned that Kazakhstan can now be seen successfully integrating in world economic relations. Today, the Republic has bilateral agreements signed with 60 countries with a further 180 countries having export and import operations. 400 German representative offices are now in existence in Central Asia with 300 of them registered in Kazakhstan as Germans regard the country as an important and authoritative partner.
