Officer assembly begins in Kazakh armed forces

Kazakhstan, Astana, Jan. 23 / Trend D. Mukhtarov / An assembly of officers selected for commander training began for the land forces of the Kazakh Armed Forces, the Kazakh Defence Ministry press service told Trend on Wednesday. 'The assembly involves the military unit commanders of land forces. Astana and the guard garrison where the training centre is located, have been chosen as the venues for the assembly. Over 10 days the commanders will be examined and tested on their military training and other disciplines in the field of military science', the report said. As noted in the ministry, until recently commander training was conducted locally. However such assemblies are now being conducted by a training course at the designated venue for the second year running. "During these assemblies, the commanders exchange experiences, share their methods of work in the organisation of combat training and daily life of their military units. Besides, the head of the troops is present in person during examinations and is able to observe the progress of the commanders' career growth," the Defence Ministry reported. According to the army chief of the Kazakh Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Murat Maykeyev, who originated the idea of a new method of commanders' testing said that this way of examining the commanders training is more efficient because officers from higher staff act as examiners at these assemblies. Accordingly, commanders prepare more thoroughly for the examinations which provide an objective assessment of their professional skills. Do you have any feedback?
