Operations in Homs begin after midnight, lasting for one hour

ANKARA (A.A) - February 5, 2012 - Syrian Revolution General Commission member said that heavy operations in Homs began after midnight at 3 a.m. and lasted for one hour. Speaking to AA correspondent, Syrian Revolution General Commission member and activist Ebu Izzet said that there was a complete disaster in the region and more than 30 houses were demolished in heavy bombardment.  Izzet said many wounded people could not be rescued due to a large bombardment of areas of Homs and many people were trapped in the rubble. Khalidiya was among regions affected mostly by heavy operation, he said. Many different weapons were used in the operation, he said. Izzet said he could not give a precise number, but at least 300 people were killed and more than 1,600 people were wounded.
