PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION VISITS GERMAN BUNDESTAG

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The chairwoman of the Petitions Committee of the German Bundestag (parliament) Ms Kersten Steinke received on Thursday a visiting parliamentary delegation of Mongolia, gave to them details on structure, functions and activities of her committee.
The same day, the deputy chairman of the committee Mr Gero Storjohann and a head of the committee's office Wolfgang Finger gave the Mongolians information about actions of their committee.
Our delegation consists of Ms R.Burmaa MP, a head of Parliamentary Standing committee on petitions and leader of the Mongolia-Germany inter-parliamentary group, and Ms M.Batchimeg MP, a member of the Standing committee on security and foreign policy.
Within the visit, the delegation has visited the petitions committee of the Landtag (parliament of Berlin State) and met with its member Mr Joachim Krueger to tae information and share views.
The delegation also met with Ms Dagmar Enkelmann, a member of the Bundestag and head of the Germany-Central Asia inter-parliamentary group. The sides discussed a present situation of the bilateral relations and emphasized an important role of the countries' legislative bodies in the bilateral cooperation. The sides expressed a willingness to boost the ties between the parliaments.
The delegation was received by Dr Beatrice Gorawantschy, a director of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation for Asia-Pacific Affairs. They discussed activities of the foundation in Mongolia and a further collaboration such as studying Germany's experiences elaborating laws on political parties and political funds.
Apart of this, Ms Batchimeg exchanged views with Mr Karl A.Lamers, a deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee of defense, and a former president of the NATO parliamentary assembly. He paid a visit to Mongolia in 2010.
