PEACEKEEPERS AWARDED STATE PRIZES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Pursuant to a decree of the State Head, the state orders and medals have been bestowed upon peacekeepers who served in the "Sustainable Freedom" operations led by the USA and the "Ensuring Security" operations chaired by the NATO in Afghanistan. The ceremony took place Friday in the Palace of Military Officers with a participation of P.Tsagaan, a head of the Presidential Office; A.Battor, the Vice Minister of Defense; Lieutenant-General Ts.Byambajav, a head of the General Headquarters of Mongolian Armed Forces (GHMAF); Mr Peter Schaller, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Mongolia; authorities of the Defense Ministry and the GHMAF; and families of the peacekeepers. The Honorary Medal of Military went to seven servicemen such as Major P.Ariunbat, a company commander at the #032 military unit; Captain P.Delgermoron, a company commander at the #084 military unit and others. The Medal for Peace went to 100 servicemen, including Captain D.Gantulga, an officer at the #150 unit; Lieutenant D.Khadkhuu, a head of culture and education section at the #167 unit; and Sergeant-Major B.Amarsaikhan, a driver at the #119 unit. In accordance with an order of the Defense Minister, some peacekeepers were awarded the 2nd and 3rd class "Glory of Militant" medals, and the 3rd class "For Motherland" medal. B.Khuder
