PERMANENT REP MEETS IAEA DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the international organizations in Vienna Mr J.Enkhsaikhan has met held a meeting with Mr Daud Mohamad, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications, in the IAEA Headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The sides have shared views on the Mongolia-IAEA cooperation in combating cancers. Mr Mohamad has granted to the Permanent Representative an original copy of an agreement on realizing a project of rendering assistance to Mongolia in frames of the action programme on cancer treatment, and then reported about an official launch of this project. Mr Mohamad expressed a satisfaction with the active and effective cooperation between Mongolia and the IAEA in combating against cancers. In turn, Mr Jargalsaikhan noted Mongolia has been paying attention to renovating the medical equipment of cancer and preparing professionals, and thanked the IAEA for implementing specific projects and programs in cancer treatment. This is one of the projects and programs being realized in a scope of the intensifying cooperation in cancer treatment together. In frames of this project, medical doctors and nurses from hospitals of all aimags, the city's districts and from the National Center of Oncology will be involved in training, and these hospitals will be provided with necessary facilities.
