PM concerns on Euro 2016 football gambling in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 11 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha on Saturday advised parents and teachers to teach children to avoid the gambling, expressing his concerns over becoming preys of gambling on Euro 2016. Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd, Government Spokesperson said football gambling in Thailand is expected to be rampant during the 2016 UEFA European Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2016, from Saturday until July 10 and Gen Prayut had expressed his worry over gambling, especially among students. Students could be lured to engage in gambling during the Euro 2016 which could negatively affect their study and they could owe money if they lose the bet, Gen Prayut was quoted as saying. Law enforcement against the betters is just solving the problem at end but it has to be done to stop the illegal gambling, Gen Prayut said. Parents, teachers and the media have an important role to play in telling the young ones the evil of gambling. (TNA)
