PREMIER ADDRESSES COUNCIL MEETING OF SCO

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag delivered on Wednesday a speech, addressing his counterpart of Kyrgyzstan Zhantoro Satybaldiyev and representatives of countries at the Heads of Governments Council Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) ran in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The Premier thanked the government and people of Kyrgyzstan for inviting him to the meeting and said he is satisfied with it and with opening direct flights between Ulaanbaatar and Bishkek. Mentioning that he had before taken part in the SCO Heads of Governments Council Meeting being the Deputy Premier of Mongolia, he said Mongolia's participation in the SCO actions is forming an important mechanism to ensure the security in Central Asia and to accelerate the socio-economic development of the region. The Premier said Mongolia wants to take part and cooperate in several fields such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, culture, education, environment and combating disasters in frames of the SCO, and added that Mongolia is seeking a chance to be involved in the Programme of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation of the SCO Member States "because the country's common interests focus on improvement of economic growth and livelihood of people by implementing specific projects". Mongolia considers as necessity to work out a same programme together with the SCO members, observers and partner-countries of the talks, he said. Then, Premier talked about his country's internal matters such as June's parliamentary and November's local elections, their results, an establishment of the new cabinet for reforms and of parliament. N.Altankhuyag attached an importance to the cooperation with partner-countries and international organizations in realizing measures reflected in the programme of the new cabinet of Mongolia. He expressed a willingness of Mongolia to collaborate with the SCO in realizing the biggest projects on railway construction and establishment of a national industrial part. He said Mongolia will keep its efforts to contribute to the development of the SCO. B.Khuder
