PREMIER ATTENDS DISCUSSION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ "A"s or "C"s in educational diplomas are not valued much by employers, but abilities of the diploma holder is important, so students must try all their best to have skills instead of having a diploma, said the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag at a discussion “Let's reform and solve-222” on Tuesday.
Organized by the government, the traditional discussion is held for the fourth time in the State House under a motto “We will make wealth”. It has brought together teachers and students of vocational training centers, representatives of professional unions, employers and entities.
The Minister of Labour Sanjmyatav said the cabinet for reforms is aiming to create 150 thousand job places in four years in frames of the “Employed Mongolian” national programme. Labour intermediation centers have been set up in all aimags, the E-labour exchange has been created in 150 khoroos (smallest administrative unit in city), it has been planned to found such an exchange in localities, he added.
Labour-age people go abroad to work, and "our Ministry wants to stop the import of cheap labour force from foreign countries", the Mongolians must work in their motherland, having jobs and good salaries, he underlined.
According to M.Jadamba, a head of the Vocational Training Department at the Ministry, this academic year some 50 thousand students are studying in state-owned and private vocational training centers, but trained staffers for the light industry are still needed.
The participants proposed to run trainings on a survey of job places and to tackle problems of staffers who work with devices and of teachers' social matters.
The Premier promised to learn these problems and to make efforts to solve them.
