President Ahmadinejad Arrives In Caracas

Caracas, Jan 9, IRNA – Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived here in Venezuela’s capital Sunday evening local time heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation for a five-day visit to the Latin American country. President Ahmadinejad was warmly welcomed by the Venezuelan Vice President at the Caracas International Airport Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will officially welcome President Ahmadinejad in a ceremony on Monday morning local time. Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Industry, Mine and Trade Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari, Energy Minister Majid Namjou, and Economy Minister Shamseddin Hosseini are accompanying President Ahmadinejad during his tour of Latin America. The president will visit Nicaragua, Cuba, and Ecuador after Venezuela. He will discuss bilateral, regional and international ties with the presidents of the Latin American countries./end
