PRESIDENT AWARDED IOC PRIZE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj has been awarded the "Sport and sustainable development" prize of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). On Monday, the president of Mongolia's National Olympic Committee (MoNNOC) D.Zagdsuren, and a honorary member of the IOC Sh.Magvan handed over to the State Head the Cup and Diploma sent from the IOC president Mr Jacques Rogge. "This prize is awarded to a political figure who significantly contributed to sports," Mr Magvan said, expressing satisfaction with presenting the prize to Mr Elbegdorj. Mr Zagdsuren said the IOC highlighted brilliant success of Mongolia at the London Olympics. It confirms a steady success of Mongolian Olympic athletes thanks to ensuring of sustainable development of a society, he said and expressed a confidence that Mongolia will have many Olympic and World champions.
