President awards Indian Ambassador Order of Independence

Abu Dhabi: President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded the outgoing Indian Ambassador M. K. Lokesh the "Order of Independence" of First Degree in appreciation of his generous contributions to the boosting of relations of friendship and cooperation between the UAE and India in various areas. Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who received the Indian Ambassador on Monday at his office at the Ministry, decorated him with the Order. Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the ambassador and wished him success in his future assignment. The outgoing Indian ambassador expressed profound gratitude to the UAE President for the great honour. He praised Sheikh Khalifa for his wise policy and for the significant role he plays at the regional and international levels. He also thanked UAE officials, in general and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in particular, for the cooperation he received during his tenure, which, he said, had contributed immensely in the successful discharge of his mission. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
