President Jeenbekov highlights Russia's special efforts to ensure security of Eurasian region

Bishkek, Nov. 28, 2019. / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov speaking at the regular session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), chaired by the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighted the special efforts of the Russian Federation to ensure the security of the entire Eurasian region. “The Center-2019 strategic command and staff exercise of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation became vivid evidence of these efforts. The active phase of exercises using the most modern technology I observed in Orenburg. I personally saw the power of Russian weapons and was very impressed. We can be calm for the external borders of our CSTO member countries. Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the contribution of Vladimir Vladimirovich to ensuring security and stability in the CSTO space,” Jeenbekov emphasized. He noted that Kyrgyzstan supports Russia's efforts to ensure stability and security in the region and in the world as a whole, and expressed confidence that the Russian chairmanship of the CSTO will give a new impetus to the development of the Organization in 2020. The CSTO is a Russia-led military alliance created in 1992, grouping the six former Soviet republics of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, with the aim of safeguarding peace and stability in Eurasia.
