President of Tanzania hails UAE's support

DAR ES SALAAM, 17th September, 2015 (WAM) -- President of the Federal Republic of Tanzania Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has extended thanks to the UAE, its government and its people for supporting development projects in his country. This came in a speech President Kikwete made yesterday as the 77-kilometre Kidaho-Ovinza road project in Tanzania was opened, in the presence of the UAE Ambassador to Tanzania, Abdullah Ibrahim Al Suwaidi. Al Suwaidi conveyed to the Tanzanian President greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. President Kikwete reciprocated the greetings and thanked the ambassador and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), which financed the project. During the opening ceremony, attended by Saeed Hamad Al Dhaheri, representative of the ADFD, Ambassador Abdullah Al Suwaidi said the project was the result of close cooperation with Tanzania under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
