Bishkek, Jan.9, 2020. /Kabar/. “Priorities for regional development and digitalization of the country will be maintained in the following years,” Daniyar Imanaliyev, the Head of the Department for Policy of Strategic Development, Economics and Finance of the President’s Office of Kyrgyzstan said, commenting on President Sooronbay Jeenbekov’s Decree on Declaring 2020 the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Support for Children. Imanaliyev reminded that the Kyrgyz leader repeatedly voiced the tasks of regional development of the country, the press service of the Kyrgyz President said Wednesday. "A comprehensive system work should be carried out to develop the regions' potential and infrastructure, improve the quality of public and municipal services at the local level," Imanaliyev said. He recalled the implementation of digitalization projects will be continued this year. "To date, all state bodies are connected to the Tunduk system of interdepartmental electronic interaction system. There is an active connection of private structures. Of 25 commercial banks, 16 are connected to this system and data exchange is already in progress," Daniyar Imanaliyev said. "To improve the penetration of digital technologies in the economy and social sphere, we must also develop digital literacy among the population. Proceeding from these needs, this Decree provides for a number of activities aimed at capacity building and development of digital skills," he stressed. Daniyar Imanaliyev noted in the long term Kyrgyzstan aims to become a country of developed information society, based on innovations and knowledge. He emphasized conditions for the development of human capital will be created for this. In addition, the head of the Department for Policy of Strategic Development, Economics and Finance of the President's Office called the preparation of the younger generation to the realities of the changing world and digital future an important direction. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has signed yesterday, Jan. 8 the Decree on Declaring 2020 the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Support for Children. According to the Decree, the most important task of the country's state and local self-government bodies is to implement measures for the development of regions, digitalization of the country and comprehensive support for children. This is the third consecutive year that is being declared the Year of Regional Development and Digitalization of the Country.
