Qatar ready to finance construction of new hospitals in Kyrgyzstan’s regions

Bishkek, Oct.3, 2019. /Kabar/. The State of Qatar is ready to finance the construction of new hospitals in regions of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Health Ministry reported. Meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s Health Minister Kosmosbek Cholponbayev and Ambassador of Qatar to Kyrgyzstan Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiti took place at the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health. At the meeting, the sides discussed the promotion of the previously discussed joint projects on the construction of hospital buildings, as well as joint free operations in various fields. Qatari Ambassador Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Sulaiti said the Qatari Charity Organization is ready to finance the construction of Family Medicine Centers in Bishkek and hospitals in the regions. He also noted the completion of the construction of a hospital complex in Kyzyl-Kiya town (Batken Oblast) by the Organization in the near future. “We have a great desire to help the health care sector to build hospitals in remote areas of the country, to update the material and technical base of health care organizations. I hope that all our joint plans will be implemented in the near future,” the ambassador said. “Within the framework of the Government’s Program on public health system for 2019-2030 “Healthy Person - Prosperous Country”, as well as within the framework of the Presidential Decree on Declaring 2019 as Year of Regional Development and Digitalization, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic is working to improve the quality of medical care in the regions, so we are interested in implementing projects to build hospitals in rural areas,” Minister Cholponbayev said. As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to hold an additional meeting to resolve the issue of construction of hospital buildings, the estimated cost of projects, as well as to accurately determine the date of the action to conduct free operations of Qatari doctors together with local specialists.
