QUOTA OF WOMEN MP MIGHT INCREASE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Last Friday, U.Khurelsukh MP submitted to the Speaker a letter of request to resign from his post.
At this year's parliamentary election, he was elected the MP through the proportional voting, coming right after S.Batbold in a list of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP). First nine became the MPs by this list, the ninth is Ms D.Sarangerel who is able to enter parliament if the Speaker and parliament consider and okay Khurelsukh's request.
For the time being, the State Great Khural has 71 out of 76 MPs. A quota of women MPs may go up to ten if Sarangerel is elected.
U.Khurelsukh has graduated from the University of Defense, Institute of Management Development and Law School at Mongolia's State University (MSU) majoring in politics, public management and law. He was elected MP three times. He is a retired colonel as well.
