RI, Timor Leste's Foreign Ministers Meet in Jakarta

Jakarta, Sept 11 (ANTARA) - Indonesia Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa held bilateral talks with his Timor Leste counterpart, Jose Luis Guterres, here on Tuesday. "We discussed measures to improve bilateral relations between our nations such as facilitating state visits of officials from the two countries and enhancing people to people contact," said Minister Marty in a joint press conference with Minister Guterres. In terms of enhancing people to people contact, both ministers discussed student exchanges, cooperation between universities in Indonesia and Timor Leste and provision of direct flights between the two countries. Marty added that he and Minister Guterres also discussed economic and investment activities between the two countries, which are expected to benefit both Indonesia and Timor Leste. Meanwhile, Minister Guterres stated Timor Leste`s commitment to strengthen good relations with Indonesia including furthering people to people contact.
