Rodong Sinmun Accuses U.S. of Justifying War Drills against DPRK

Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The world public has strongly demanded a stop to the on-going U.S.-south Korea joint military drills, terming them very dangerous saber-rattling wrecking peace on the Korean peninsula and in other parts of the region. But the U.S., far from paying heed to it, told rubbish that it would push ahead with the war rehearsals as scheduled, calling them "a strong message to north's provocation." It means that the saber-rattling is just a "countermeasure" against "provocations." Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Monday says: The U.S. claim is nothing but sheer sophism. The provocateurs are the U.S. and south Korean warmongers. The largest-ever Ssangyong joint landing drills are now underway in south Korea under the simulated conditions of landing on the territory of the DPRK to advance into its depth to "eliminate" its supreme leadership and core facilities. As Washington is kicking up war hysteria as its last-ditch effort to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, its army and people can never remain a passive onlooker to it. Inevitable is their military counteraction. The enemy will have to pay the dearest price for its provocation - the most miserable ruin and death. -0-
