Rodong Sinmun Urges U.S. to Halt Its Nuclear Threat and Blackmail against DPRK

Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The nuclear threat and blackmail and sanctions escalated by the U.S. against the DPRK, failing to properly judge the fundamentally changed strategic position of Juche Korea and the trend of the times, would only prompt the latter to bolster up its nuclear attack means, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a commentary. The DPRK's successful test-fire of strategic ballistic rocket Hwasong-10 sends a strong message to the world, the commentary notes, and goes on: The strategic structure of standoff between the DPRK and the U.S. and the trend of the situation have dramatically changed. In the last period, there existed only the unilateral nuclear threat and blackmail of the U.S. in the DPRK-U.S. relations. Consequently, extreme tension prevailed on the Korean peninsula. But, the U.S. mainland is now exposed to threat. Just as the U.S. has put staging madcap nuclear war drills by introducing nuclear strategic assets into south Korea on a "routine basis," the DPRK's efforts to bolster up its nuclear deterrence have become routine. The DPRK's capability to make a preemptive nuclear attack will be further bolstered up in the future. The U.S. and the south Korean puppet group are trumpeting about "denuclearization" from an anachronistic viewpoint. But it is too late. It is hard to turn back the clock of history. -0-
