Rodong Sinmun Urges U.S. to Make Right Political Decision

Pyongyang, January 11 (NNN-KCNA) -- Fair-minded public opinion is unanimous in its view that only when a peace treaty is concluded between the DPRK and the U.S. genuine peace can settle in the Korean Peninsula, says Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a commentary. It goes on: The U.S., the party responsible for concluding the peace accord, is still claiming that there should be a crucial stride in the denuclearization before replacing the Armistice Agreement by a peace accord. Our nuclear weapons serve as a treasured sword to put an end to the U.S. nuclear threat and blackmail, defend the country's sovereignty and nation's dignity and preserve peace and security in the peninsula and Northeast Asia. Gone are days never to return when the U.S. could threaten the DPRK with nuclear weapons. A clear proof of this was the recent successful H-bomb test. The U.S. would be well advised to make a right political decision for concluding the peace accord, though belatedly. It should know this is a wise attitude for itself. --NNN-KCNA
