Saif bin Zayed meets Metropolitan Police to discuss attack on Emirati women

Abu Dhabi (WAM): H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, yesterday met with the Metropolitan Police Service Homicide and Major Crime Command team, the unit responsible for arresting the suspects responsible for the attack on three Emirati sisters in a London hotel earlier this year. During the meeting, which was held at the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters, His Highness commended the distinguished cooperation between the authorities of both countries, and highlighted the results of their collaborative effort, which led to the apprehension of the suspects, including the main assailant, who used a hammer to attack the sisters. Abu Dhabi Police had previously sent two teams from the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, to the United Kingdom to investigate and work with local authorities and offer their support to the victims. The meeting was attended by a group of police officials including Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director-General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Bu Rasheed, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, and Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police. Three senior Metropolitan police officers handling the case are expected to give a lecture during a workshop and reveal details of the group effort which led to the arrest of the suspects. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
