Salehi: Iran Attaches Importance To Expansion Of Ties With Africa

Tehran, Nov 21, IRNA – Zimbabwe’s Presidential spokesman George Charamba conferred on Sunday with Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries. The Zimbabwean official heading a media delegation arrived in Tehran on Sunday. According to Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the meeting, Salehi referred to friendly ties between Tehran and Harare and urged exchange of views between the two sides' high ranking officials on expansion of mutual relations and on regional and global developments. He also expressed the hope to witness further promotion of cooperation and relations between the two sides. Iran attaches importance to expansion of relations with African countries, Salehi said adding that grounds for expansion of all-out relations and cooperation between the two countries are well-prepared. The Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys high capabilities in the fields of industries, agriculture, health and pharmaceutics and is ready to render its valuable services to independent states in the African continent such as Zimbabwe, Salehi said. The Zimbabwean envoy, for his part, conveyed the greetings of his country’s foreign minister and lauded Iran’s support for the Zimbabwean people and government. Referring to the special attention of the Zimbabwean president to expansion of relations between the two countries, he called for implementation of agreements already signed by the two sides.
