Salehi: Iran To Promote Its Int'l Position Through NAM

Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt, May 9, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran international position will be promoted by hosting NAM meeting and assuming its rotating chairmanship for three years. Upon arrival at the airport, Salehi told reporters that holding Non-Aligned Movement summit meeting in Tehran in September with more than 120 countries participating has special importance. He said that gathering of heads of more than 120 countries in Tehran and approving final documents of the meeting will promote Iran's position in international arena and political interactions. In the 2-day meeting here, a draft statement will be prepared to be submitted to Tehran Summit. In Tehran Summit, 120 member states of NAM, 18 countries as observers and 10 international organizations will participate./end
