Salehi Offers Views On Latest West's Anti-Iran Measures

Tehran, April 2, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi offered his views on the latest West's measures against Iran and said Washington will pull back from its stands only when it thinks all ways have been blocked. In an interview with IRNA, he said that exclusion of eleven countries from oil sanctions list is in no way a retreat by Washington. Stressing the need for further reinforcement of national solidarity, he said the nation should be even more vigilant now against the US measures. He said Iran believed West would continue exerting pressures as long as it believed the Islamic Republic was powerful, stressing that Iran is quite capable of defeating those pressures. The Iranian foreign minister went on to underline the importance of unity and national integrity in maintaining power and strength of the country. He said all Iranians even those who live outside Iran and have different views on the ruling system in the country unanimously support the strong belief that making use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes is the inalienable right of the Iranian nation. Referring to the West’s wrong belief that Iran will yield to the pressures, Salehi said the anti-Iran measures in the past three decades created only minor problems for the country./end
