Sanctions against Iran, ‘a rusty sword’: Iranian diplomat

TEHRAN, Jan. 10(MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Parliamentary and Consular Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday that the Western sanctions against Iran are ineffective, calling them ‘a rusty sword’. He said that the imposition of more sanctions against the Islamic Republic is indicative of the fact that the previous sanctions have not been effective. He went on to say that the current nature of the West’s diplomacy in dealing with Iran is aggressive, but the West should be aware that it has no choice but to accept the realities on the ground in Iran.
