Saqr Ghobash heads UAE delegation to 104th session of International Labour Conference

ABU DHABI, 31st May, 2015 (WAM) -- The UAE will participate in 104th session of the International Labour Conference from 1- 13 June 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland, with participation of labourers, employers and government delegates from the ILO's 185 member States. Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour (MoL) will lead the UAE delegation which includes a number of MoL's undersecretaries, representatives of Ministry of Economy, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development, and stakeholders. Ghobash will also take part in the 50th GCC Labour minister meeting, due to be held on the side-lines of the conference. The meeting will tackle the issues to be discussed by the conference, with the aim to coordinate positions to boost the GCC joint action. The 104th Session of the International Labour Conference will tackle the report presented by ILO's director general and a wide range of issues, including the transition from the informal to the formal economy, small and medium-sized enterprises and decent and productive employment creation, social protection (labour protection), the application of international labour standards, and programme and budget proposals for 2016-17. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395281215470.html
