Schengen visa centre for travelers to Spain may be opened in Bishkek

Bishkek, Feb.17, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of participation in the 56th Munich Security Conference, Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov held a number of bilateral meetings with FMs of Spain, Liechtenstein, Poland and Norway. According to the Kyrgyz MFA’s press service, Aidarbekov informed and invited these countries’ delegations to take part in the first European Union-Central Asia Economic Forum, to be held this summer in Bishkek. The sides also considered some aspects of the agenda of bilateral relations. In particular, Kyrgyzstan’s FM Aidarbekov discussed with his Spanish counterpart issues, related to the issuance of Schengen visas for Kyrgyz citizens going to Spain by opening a visa center in Bishkek or other acceptable way. In addition, the Polish and Kyrgyz sides discussed issues of further strengthening the political dialogue between the two countries. The Spanish and Polish parties invited Chingiz Aidarbekov to visit Madrid and Warsaw for detailed discussion of all issues. The Munich Security Conference 2020 covered a wide range of security-related topics, including transatlantic and European issues, as well as emerging challenges for the international community. The 56th Munich Security Conference took place on 14-16 February 2020 in Munich.
