Space Is Not Monopoly of U.S.: Minju Joson

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- It is stipulated in the "provisions for the competition in commercial space rocket launches" ratified by U.S. President Obama on Nov. 25 that the Departments of Transport and Defense of the Administration as well as the NASA have the right to decide what should be put into space, what should be brought and what is allowed to bring to the land. This means any country should get prior approval from the U.S. regarding space exploration and development. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Tuesday says the U.S.-style arrogance and self-complacency have gone beyond the tolerance limit to reach the stage where it lords it over the world in disregard of international law and practices. The commentary goes on: Space is not a monopoly of someone but a property common to humankind and this is guaranteed by international law. In recent years the U.S. branded the DPRK's space development for peaceful purpose as "missile development" while egging its followers on to put "international pressure" on it in a bid to meet the above-said purposes. The U.S. fabrication of domestic act does not mean space will belong to the U.S. The DPRK will exercise its right to space development with dignity no matter what the U.S. may say about it. The U.S. has to stop encroaching upon sovereignty by finding fault with the DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes. -0-
