SPEAKER LEGS CORRUPTION COMBATING AGENCY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On Monday, the Speaker of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold got au fait with activities of the Corruption Combating Agency (CCA) with an aim to hear a proposal from this agency in conjunction with working out the 2014 budget plan.
The Speaker said that the CCA is the organization works at parliament, and he is getting acquainted with works of legal organizations which are appointed by the government and parliament. "Six years ago me and a former MP G.Zandanshatar visited the Anti-Corruption Agency of Hong Kong while adopting a draft law on founding the Mongolia's CCA, so I am getting familiarized with the agency's activities," Z.Enkhbold said.
"The CCA bears responsibilities of inspection and educating. As of the year 2012, budgetary authorities of localities have increased by 2.3 times, hence newly elected governors and heads of the Citizens' Representative Khural must increase their responsibilities, and the inspection capacity will improve. Mentioning that the CCA begin to accept capital and income declarations, and reports on interest conflicts, the Speaker said the CCA have to take prevention measures, and related information should be delivered to local authorities.
The Speaker was accompanied by L.Tsog, a Vice Speaker of Parliament; Sh.Tuvdendorj, a head of the parliamentary Standing committee on justice; R.Burmaa, a head of the Standing committee on petitions; and MPs D.Ganbat, D.Battsogt and O.Baasankhuu.
