SPEAKER MEETS N.KOREAN DELEGATION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold received Monday a delegation led by Mr Choi Tae-Bok, a chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the DPRK after they laid a wreath to the Statue of D.Sukhbaatar, and paid tribute to the Monument of Chingis Khaan and left signatures in the Note of Honored Guests. The Speaker thanked the North Korea's delegation for visiting Mongolia, and expressed his satisfaction with a sustainable development of the traditional friendly bilateral relations since establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1948. The Speaker underlined an importance of the visit of the N.Korean delegation for bringing the further cooperation between the legislative bodies of the countries. A new parliament and cabinet were set up after the parliamentary election ran in June of this year, he said. “Our cabinet for reform intends to do many works such as establishing industrial complex, railways and manufacturing factories in order to make its economy highly-competitive at the international market and to abolish the economic dependence from mining sector. Mongolia has willingness to cooperate with new leaders of the DPRK, keeping its state policy,” the Speaker said. The Speaker also said Mongolia wants to export products to the N.Korea, to exchange labour force, to collaborate in the IT sector and to make an agreement on renting sea port in the DPRK. In turn, Mr Choi thanked the Speaker for an audience, and agreed with Enkhbold on importance of his visit to forward the bilateral traditional friendly relations. He pointed out the countries have been closely cooperation in frames of the United Nations, and added this cooperation is contributing to peace in Northeast Asia. It is possible to deepen the mutual understanding of the countries through parliamentary groups, Mr Choi said, and proposed to cooperate in economic zonal development, in coal and mining sectors. He hoped that the Speaker will support it to make good legal environment, and invited Z.Enkhbold to pay an official visit to the DPRK. Present at the meeting were S.Bayartsogt, a Vice Speaker of Parliament and head of the Mongolia-DPRK inter-parliamentary group; M.Ganbold, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the DPRK; B.Boldbaatar, the secretary-general of the Parliamentary Office; and Ts.Narantuya, head of the Parliamentary Office's Section of Foreign Relations and Cooperation.
