STATE HEAD RECEIVES KYRGYZSTAN PREMIER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received Tuesday the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mr Djoomart Otorbaev.
The guest conveyed to the Mongolian Leader the greetings of the President of Kyrgyzstan Mr Almazbek Atambayev and said the latter attributes a great significance to Mr Elbegdorj’s state visit to his country in 2012.
Mr Otorbaev also conveyed an invitation from the Kyrgyz President to Mr Elbegdorj to the World Nomad Games that will run this September in Kyrgyzstan. "They include traditional nomadic games such as wrestling and horse racing, they will be participated by representatives of Turkey and Central Asian countries," he added.
The Prime Minister expressed interests of the Kyrgyz side to learn from Mongolia’s model of democracy and free market economy, as well as from its experiences in developing human rights and democratic fair elections. He emphasized that Mongolia’s model of democracy will meet Kyrgyzstan’s needs, as the two countries share many features such as traditions, ways of living, culture and history.
Opportunities exist to boost a cooperation in mining, animal husbandry and tourism industry, moreover, favorable climate of Kyrgyzstan will let the Mongolian business people engage in agricultural and agronomic practices there, he said.
Mr Elbegdorj noted the importance of accurate registration of voters and usage of electronic voting machines for conducting fair elections. He also noted a significance of representative exchanges, particularly exchanges of MPs between the two countries to share experiences.
Then he highlighted his "From Big Government to Smart Government" initiative, within which a law on transparent account has been approved by parliament, a draft law on public hearing has been submitted to parliament, and the laws on accountability of elected/appointed state servants and on General law on administration has been developed. He also said Mongolia has been working on shifting from electoral democracy to the direct democracy and on promoting the civil participation, and noted that a Consulate-General of Mongolia is planned to be operational in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in near future.
