STATE SECRETARY MEETS S.KOREAN DIPLOMAT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The newly established cabinet for reforms has aspirations to widen the cooperation with the Republic of Korea in politics, economics and investment sectors and to strengthen the cooperation at regional and international arenas, keeping the continuation of the foreign policy.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs G.Tsogtsaikhan said it Thursday at a meeting with Lee Sang-Dog, a deputy director of the Northeast Asia Department of South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who is paying a working visit to Mongolia.
He asked the S.Korean side to focus on Mongolia's request regarding annulling of a clause for Mongolian visa applicants to place pledge money in a commercial bank. This matter was discussed during a visit of Mongolian Foreign Minister to S.Korea.
In turn, Mr Lee said his country aspires to strengthen the cooperation with Mongolia in the trade and economic spheres, and promised to pay attention to the matter on facilitating the visa term for Mongolians. Then the two sides considered as necessity to set up an intergovernmental joint committee for coordinating the bilateral economic cooperation.
Mr Lee explained his country's position towards an announcement of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) about a decision of launching a rocket by December 10-22, "which violates a resolution of the United Nations Security Council".
The State Secretary said Mongolia calls the DPRK to consider again this decision taking into account interests of the international community.
