Sultan Qabous, President Rohani Discuss Bilateral Ties On Phone

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA – Oman’s Sultan Qabous in a telephone conversation with President Hassan Rohani said that he is willing to meet the Iranian chief executive in person and talk about issues of mutual interest. Sultan Qabous once again congratulated Rohani on his election as Iran’s new president wishing success for the Islamic Republic’s new government. President Rohani, for his part, thanked Sultan Qabous for calling him and sending his representative to attend his swearing-in ceremony on August 4. The Iranian president pointed to cultural, historical and neighborly bonds between Iran and Oman, saying, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in consolidation of Tehran-Muscat ties.” /end
