Syrian people, government showed power of resistance: Iran`s Jalili

TEHRAN,Sept.25(MNA) – The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, said on Monday that the Syrian people and government have proved the power of resistance. Jalili made the remarks during a meeting with Syrian Parliament national security committee chairman Mohammad Sobhi Abou al-Shamat in Tehran. He emphasized that Syria’s strong resistance against foreign enemies and acts of terrorism carried out in the country is due to the power of the nation. He said that the power has been gained as a result of three decades of resistance against the Zionist regime. Syria will definitely be stronger than ever with the passing of the crisis in the country, the Iranian top security official noted. “The Syrian nation is able to resolve their problems, and for this reason, we have repeatedly stated that the only solution to the Syrian issue is (national dialogue),” Jalili said, adding that foreigners have no right to intervene in the country’s internal affairs. He went on to say that the Islamic Republic supports all the initiatives in line with efforts to broker national dialogue in Syria. Jalili said that the enemies are trying to take revenge on the axis of resistance. During the meeting, Shamat emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a powerful country, can play a pivotal role in resolving regional crises. He also said that Iran and Syria can maintain regional security.
