Tehran-Baghdad Ties Not To Be Affected By Enemy's Propaganda : Envoy

Baghdad, Jan 31, IRNA -- Iran's Ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Danaeifar said on Tuesday that Tehran and Baghdad ties will not be affected by the enemies’ negative propaganda. Danaeifar made the remarks in a meeting with Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister Labid Abavi. Pointing to the enemies’ negative propaganda and misquoting some Iranian officials in some regional media, Danaeifar said Iran-Iraq ties are laid on mutual understanding and will not be affected with Iranophobia wave raised by certain western and regional governments. He said that anti-Iran propaganda campaign aims to disturb the current deep and historical relations of the two Muslim and brotherly neighboring nations. The Ambassador reiterated that the mutual relations are much solid and that no propaganda or wreaking rift can affect it. Danaeifar said Iran’s policy is based on respect to the regional and world countries' independence and honor and dignity. He added that Iran repeatedly announced it respects other countries national sovereignty and independence and refrain from interfering in their domestic affairs. Abavi said that he was pleased with regular consultations with Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad adding that Iraq is satisfied with friendly atmosphere of the mutual talks over economic, political and consular issues and administrative cooperation. He called for speeding up implementation of the agreements already signed between the two countries and said that acceleration of following up utual issues can nullify the hostile propaganda campaign. The Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister underlined the accuracy of reporting by the media over the remarks of the authorities and officials of the two countries. Some regional media forged some Iranian officials’ remarks last week to damage Iran and Iraq historical and friendly ties./end
