Tehran Calls For Strengthened Islamic Resistance - Official

Tehran, Dec 21, IRNA – Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou on Tuesday expressed hope that the Islamic resistance front would be further strengthened to fight against world expansionist powers.
Strengthening Islamic resistance needs further cooperation among the Islamic nations, said Saeedlou in a meeting with Mauritanian Prime Minister Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf in Nouakchott.
“The West is not in favor of Muslims’ unity,” said the Iranian official stressing that the Islamic countries should be cautious against western plots aimed at shattering amicable ties between independent Muslim countries.
The Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys a special position in the Islamic Ummah, said the Mauritanian premier for his part, adding that Nouakchott is keen to boost ties with Tehran./end
