Ten Political Parties To Contest 2014 Elections

Jakarta, Jan 8 (ANTARA) - The General Election Commission (KPU) has decided to allow only ten of 36 political parties to contest the 2014 general elections. The other 24 parties failed to meet the requirements to take part in the elections, KPU chairman Husni Kamil Manik said here on Tuesday. The decision was made after an open plenary session of the commission here from Monday to early Tuesday. "Revision of this decision is possible only on a decision of the Election Supervision Agency (Bawaslu), a decision of the State Administration High Court or a decision of the Supreme Court," the KPU decision said as read by Husni. The 10 political parties allowed to take part in the 2014 elections are 1. Partai Amanat Nasional 2. Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan 3. Partai Demokrat 4. Partai Gerakan Indonesia Raya 5. Partai Golongan Karya 6. Partai Hati Nurani Rakyat 7. Partai Keadilan Sejahtera 8. Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa 9. Partai Nasional Demokrat 10.Partai Persatuan Pembangunan The 24 parties failing to get through verification to take part in the elections are 1. Partai Bulan Bintang 2.
