Thai agriculture minister resigns

BANGKOK, October 25 (TNA) - Thai Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Theera Wongsamut resigned Thursday, with immediate effect, citing his health problems. Theera told reporters that he has already submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and he would then bid farewell to his ministry’s officials. Former permanent secretary for agriculture and cooperatives Yukol Limlaemthong is expected to take up the agriculture and cooperatives portfolio, replacing Theera, in a Cabinet reshuffle anticipated shortly.
